{"id":14,"date":"2005-04-12T12:22:21","date_gmt":"2005-04-12T20:22:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hamsterrepublic.com\/james\/?p=14"},"modified":"2007-10-09T15:13:40","modified_gmt":"2007-10-09T23:13:40","slug":"skully-the-skellington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/james.hamsterrepublic.com\/?p=14","title":{"rendered":"Skully the Skellington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Current mood: Alive<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gilgamesh.hamsterrepublic.com\/albums\/Sketch\/skully.png\" style=\"clear: right; margin: 1em; float: right\" \/><br \/>\nWhile I was watching Ryda play <a href=\"http:\/\/www.planetbaldursgate.com\/\">Baldur&#8217;s Gate II<\/a> last night, it occured to me how incredibly useful it would be to have the powers of a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Necromancer\">necromancer<\/a> in real life.<\/p>\n<p>When I get to work in the morning, I would summon a skelleton, and say; <i style=\"color: red\">Skully! Read and file my e-mail! And save anything important for me.<\/i>,  and then skully would say <i style=\"color: purple\">yessss master.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Then I would be working on a programming project, and somebody would come to me with a spreadsheet project, and I would be all <i style=\"color: red\">Skully! Do this boring spreadsheet for me!<\/i>, and Skully would say <i style=\"color: purple\">Yessss master. Being an unholy damned creature of the netherworld, I have a natural proficiency with <a href=\"http:\/\/office.microsoft.com\/en-us\/default.aspx\">Microsoft Excel<\/a><\/i>, and then I would say; <i style=\"color: red\">But Skully, this is <a href=\"http:\/\/openoffice.org\/\">OpenOffice.org<\/a> running on <a href=\"http:\/\/debian.org\/\">Debian GNU\/Linux<\/a><\/i>, and Skully would go <i style=\"color: purple\">AAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh!!!<\/i> and he would catch fire and crumble into ash, and then I would be bummed, because I would have to use up half my <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mana\">mana<\/a> summoning a new Skully, and then I wouldn&#8217;t have enough mana left over at lunch time to cast <a href=\"http:\/\/gilgamesh.hamsterrepublic.com\/gallery\/Sketch\/guest11\">Fire 3<\/a> to heat up my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nissinfoods.com\/cup.htm\">Cup-O-Noodles<\/a>, and I would have to walk <strong>all<\/strong> the way down to the break room to use the <a href=\"http:\/\/apache.airnet.com.au\/~fastinfo\/microwave\/cd\/\">stupid microwave<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Current mood: Alive While I was watching Ryda play Baldur&#8217;s Gate II last night, it occured to me how incredibly useful it would be to have the powers of a necromancer in real life.
